Our response to COVID-19

Cairns Orthopaedic Clinic would like to advise that we remain open for business while we closely monitor developments in relation to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia.

Our patients and team member’s safety and wellbeing remain our highest priority and we have precautions in place to maximise the safety in our rooms.

What we are doing to protect our patients and team?
As this situation develops we are closely monitoring official developments and advice, such as updates from the Department of Health and WHO websites.

We have implemented the following Screening Process.

Entry will be prohibited to our clinic to any visitor or staff member that has:

  • In the last 14 days returned from, or had close contact with someone returned from international travel or travel on a cruise ship;
  • Had any close contact with any person that has been symptomatic, diagnosed  or awaiting testing or results of coronavirus;
  • Are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, dry cough, body aches, headaches, sore throat, runny nose, tiredness and shortness of breath.  Anyone experiencing any of the above are instructed to self-isolate and seek medical assistance/testing.

We have implemented Telehealth Services.

GP referral of patients suitable for Telehealth consultation will be offered this service with appointments made following triage by the specialist.

We are heavily focused on our infection control protocols.

Hand hygiene and increased cleaning is occurring.

We understand the heightened concern and anxiety surrounding COVID-19 and  have additional supports in place to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable and talk through any concerns that they may have.

Yours faithfully
