Following on from our successful presentation to local GP’s our team delivered an adapted education evening “ The Active Adolescent” in our rooms for local Physiotherapists on Monday 18th March 2019.
A large proportion of our patients will attend their physio well before they present to a general practitioner for referral to a specialist. Cairns Orthopaedic Clinic acknowledge the need for good communication between our clinic and our local allied health colleagues. The talks that were previously presented to a group of local GP’s were tailored for our physiotherapy audience.
Topics covered on the evening were;
Chris Morrey – Femoroacetabular Impingement - FAI
Robert Pozzi – Shoulder instability
Ben Parkinson – ACL injury in adolescents.
Cameron Downes – Spinal stress fractures
Kira James – Concussion
Being a Monday evening we were pleased to have 42 physiotherapists from Cairns and the Tablelands attend. A robust Q& A session at the end of the presentations show the passion our local allied health profession have in relation to offering the highest of standards of practice to our regional community.
