Cairns Orthopaedic Clinic were proud to be a major sponsor for the 6th year to the Send Hope Not Flowers charity luncheon in Cairns.
Did you know that every two minutes, a woman dies from complications in childbirth?
Send Hope Not Flowers aims to help mothers survive childbirth in the developing world. This is done in numerous ways such as funding doctors and midwives to train local health workforces, purchasing obstetric equipment and basic supplies, delivering baby packs and helping mothers access supervised deliveries.
Send Hope Not Flowers provide funding to partner organisations working on the ground in developing countries, on projects that are long-term, sustainable and empowering for women.
Over 300 people attended and over $30,000.00 was raised at the luncheon organised by Miller Harris Lawyers . Cairns has raised over $130,000.00 in six years. As Send Hope Not Flowers is administered by a team working voluntarily, all money raised will go direct to where it is needed.
